Mexico has been drawn against South Korea, South Africa and a UEFA playoff winner in Group A for the 2026 World Cup. The draw is being made Friday at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C, with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum in attendance.

When Canada qualified for the 2022 tournament, it ended a 36-year World Cup drought. Having not gotten out of the group stage of its two prior World Cup appearances, Canada will be aiming at the knockout rounds in 2026.
